Getting to the Root with Aquarius Szn | Newsletter Repost
Welcome to the beginning of Aquarius Season.
If you're feeling a rumble, whether within yourself or within your communities, toward collective action and fighting against injustice- the stars support it. We are currently in an Aquarius stellium, with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto all activating this sign. Together, these placements call us toward collective liberation, toward reimagining what no longer works, and toward getting radical, as Angela Davis reminds us, radical meaning to the root, in how we understand freedom, care, and responsibility to one another.
Right now, many of our local, national, and global communities are suffering. There is no doubt about it. Navigating emails, parenting, commuting, food on the table while the world feels like it's burning is no small feat.
However, not all hope is lost.
This is a season that asks us to sharpen our discernment. Media literacy matters. Nuance matters. Be intentional about what you consume and who you trust. In a time where anyone can hold a mic and be positioned as an “expert” on Instagram or TikTok, it’s essential that skepticism toward power doesn’t turn into disengagement from critical thinking or from a critical tool…hope.
Ask yourself:
Why are you more likely to be shown demoralizing news?
Why is liberatory education often censored or buried?
Why do you know more about consumer trends than what’s happening in your own neighborhood?
Get to the root this season. Challenge yourself to hold nuance and ask, why, why why?
Reflection Questions/ Card Pulls for this season
What experiences of privilege/ease and oppression/hardship do I carry within myself? What systems contribute to fueling my self-love vs. my self-doubt?
What are my core values? How do I know that? Where do I prove that in my daily actions and habits? Do I feel aligned with what I say vs. what actions I take?
How can I hold a more sustaining version of activism and community care without burning myself and others out? How can I fight against perfectionism and self-indulgent pessimism and instead, stand up in community liberation?
What truth about myself am I being invited to face more honestly?
Wishing you a radical month ahead.
